Please note that the Club will have modified hours on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th. The Club will open at its normal time and close at 5:00pm. The Fitness Floor will close 30 minute prior, at 4:30pm.

The Summer Shake-Up to Shape-Up

Every summer fitness enthusiasts run into the same problem. Do we skip the Club and go outside to work on our tans? Or do we spend another evening sweating away on the Club’s Fitness Floor? Luckily, we can have our summer, and live it too.

MEET OUR TEAM MEMBERS

Yvonne Castañeda, General ManagerYvonne Castañeda brings extensive experience to her role as General Manager. She joins us from our Miami Club where she was the Fitness and Group Exercise Manager. She has been in the fitness industry in various roles including a Personal Trainer, Group Exercise Instructor and Fitness Manager, and is a Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. In addition, she is certified in Kettlebells Levels 1 and 2 and competes in Half Iron Man Triathlons. She has true passion for the fitness industry and regards her profession as her purpose in life. Prior to joining our team, Yvonne was a Fitness manager for a national health club chain, and has held a variety of roles including translator, interpreter and transcriber. Her passion for finding her “why” is outlined in her book, “The Whole Wide World.”
Mark Linkiewicz, Assistant General ManagerMark brings extensive experience to his role of Assistant General Manager, with 19 years in the industry and 9 years with the company. Prior to this role, he held the position of Fitness Education Manager where he oversaw the education for Private Trainers and Mind Body and Group Exercise instructors at the company's six health clubs. Previously, he was the Fitness Manager at the Boston location for five years. Mark holds a B.S. in Exercise Science from the University at Buffalo, is certified through NESTA, and is an Advantage Private Trainer.
Jessica Lopez, Group Exercise ManagerJessica Lopez is the Group Exercise and MindBody Manager for Sports Club/LA - Boston. Jess studied Exercise Science at The University of Massachusetts - Amherst. She is a Forrest trained yoga teacher and has been fortunate enough to study closely with Ana and many other great teachers. Her goal is to inspire her students with creative movement, challenge them through physical asanas and balance them with energetic opening. Expect a vigorous class with encouragement to honor your own level. Jess believes that yoga is a way to transform your body and your life. It is an opportunity to turn your day upside down and have a lot of fun!
Mariana Spry, Spa ManagerMariana has been with Sports Club/LA for over six years. She has experience as a Membership Director, Reception Manager and For Kids Only Manager and has been managing The Spa for two years. Mariana believes in making a difference in people’s lives and providing results oriented services through The Spa.
Lisa Romano, For Kids Only Manager
Lisa Romano has been with the Sports Club/LA since 2007. She began at Reception and one year later found her passion working with children when she had the opportunity to get involved with For Kids Only at the Club. Her passion for working with children has continued to grow and flourish over the years. She has been the For Kids Only Manager in Boston since 2010, and starting 2013, Lisa will be managing the For Kids Only programming at our Chestnut Hill location as well. She loves to dance, laugh, and create – both at work, and in life.
Dan Caputi, Reception ManagerBorn and raised in Huntington, Long Island, Dan moved to Cambridge from New York City in 2007. Soon after, he took his first job in the fitness industry and started at the Sports Club/LA in 2009. Dan holds a B.A. in Music from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York and his J.D. from the City University of New York law school in Queens, New York. His favorite forms of exercise are indoor cycling, yoga, and running.
Tony Petruzzelli, Operations Manager
Tony Petruzzelli joined the Sports Club/LA Boston team in 2001. Tony has over 30 years of experience in the fitness industry as a personal trainer, boxing coach and club manager. Tony is skilled in several building trades, facilities management and has studied at the Peterson School of Engineering. In addition to his extensive fitness and construction background Tony also holds a degree in Business Management.
